FRENZ2: FP7 administrative issues

 Target audience: Those (administrative) staff dealing at the organisational level with FP7 contracts and finance.

 Event overview: This 1 day course on FP7 administrative issues such as reporting, contracts, finance and audit aims to provide research management and finance staff with a grounding in the European Commission documents underpinning FP7 engagement. In particular, it will focus on:

  • The EC model grant agreements
  • The DESCA consortium agreement
  • The information requirements for FP7 reporting

FRENZ3: A researchers guide to FP7

Target audience: Researchers with little or no knowledge of FP7 who want to understand the basic opportunities, and develop strategies for engagement.

Event overview: The aim of this training course is to equip researchers with sufficient knowledge of FP7 to allow them to develop their own approach FP7 engagement. Starting with an introduction to FP7, researchers will begin to understand how the programme works, and how they might become involved. This course will help researchers to find a path through the FP7 documentation, and will also consider the various approaches to identifying partners.

FRENZ4: Proposal writing for IRSES

Target audience: Researchers and other staff involved in proposal development  for the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) call.

Event overview: The EC’s ‘International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES)’ is a secondment scheme to strengthen the organizational connection between research groups around the world through the exchange of several individuals between Europe and (in our case) New Zealand within a 3-4 year project. This event aims to provide potential NZ-based participants with an understanding of both the programme and the proposal process in order that they can initiate proposal development with their European counterparts.

FRENZ5: Marie Curie Incoming and Outgoing International Fellowships

Target audience: Researchers and other staff involved in proposal development for the Marie Curie World Fellowships call.

Event overview: FP7’s People programme allows the training and mobility of excellent researchers as a mechanism for both career development, and the sharing of skills and expertise. These fellowships allow either European researchers to undertake a fellowship in NZ (OIF), or NZ researchers to undertake a fellowship in Europe (IIF) for 1-2 years. Fellowships are aimed at experienced (min. post-doc) researchers throughout their research career, and provide a generous contribution toward travel, salary, research costs and overheads.

Target audience: Researchers and administrative staff who want to hear the latest about the 2011 workprogrammes and calls.

Event overview: The aim of this information day is to provide researchers with the latest information on the 2011 calls for proposals. The focus will be on the subtle changes in the EC approach from one call to the next, based on feedback from previous calls.
