Target audience: researchers and other staff involved in proposal development for the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) call.

Event overview: The EC’s ‘International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES)’ is a secondment scheme to strengthen the organizational connection between research groups around the world through the exchange of several individuals between Europe and (in our case) New Zealand within a 3-4 year project. This event aims to provide potential NZ-based participants with an understanding of both the programme and the proposal process in order that they can initiate proposal development with their European counterparts.
The training will demonstrate the EC’s electronic proposal submission system (EPSS), and discuss the process of applying for IRSES funding from NZ sources.
Expected learning outcomes:
Participants will:
- Have an understanding of the objectives of the IRSES programme
- Be able to locate and understand documents relevant to the IRSES call
- Have a broad knowledge of the proposal, evaluation and negotiation phases
- Have strategies to identify potential partners
- Have identified strategies for engagement
