FRENZ5: Marie Curie Incoming and Outgoing International Fellowships

Target audience: researchers and other staff involved in proposal development for the Marie Curie World Fellowships call.

Please note that this call for proposals will be launched in March 2010 with a deadline of August 2010.

Event overview: FP7’s People programme allows the training and mobility of excellent researchers as a mechanism for both career development, and the sharing of skills and expertise. These fellowships allow either European researchers to undertake a fellowship in NZ (OIF), or NZ researchers to undertake a fellowship in Europe (IIF) for 1-2 years. Fellowships are aimed at experienced (min. post-doc) researchers throughout their research career, and provide a generous contribution toward travel, salary, research costs and overheads.

Training workshops are offered for researchers developing a proposal. The aim is to provide some general information on proposal development, and also work with peers to address some of the common issues raised in proposal evaluation.

Expected learning outcomes:

Participants will:

  • Have an understanding of the objectives of the Marie Curie Fellowships
  • Be able to locate and understand documents relevant to the fellowships calls
  • Have a broad knowledge of the proposal, evaluation and negotiation phases
  • Have strategies to identify potential hosts and/or fellows
  • Have identified strategies for engagement
