FRENZ Roadshows
FRENZ Director, Carole Glynn, will visit the main research centres around New Zealand to deliver an update on NZ participation in the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme for Research and Development (FP7). These roadshow sessions are intended as an opportunity to highlight the new calls for the Cooperation programme themes that are expected to be launched at the end of July, and will draw on discussions with the European Commission, during the latest EU-NZ Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee meeting (June 2010), and Carole's recent visit to Europe. The Marie Curie Schemes and COST will also be mentioned as opportunities to forge stronger collaborations for the future.
In addition, we would like to facilitate a discussion of your experiences with the Framework Programme. In doing this, we hope to identify aspects of best practice, as well as any perceived barriers to the NZ-EU research relationship.
Thus, the broad structure of the meeting will be:
45 minute update on FP7, followed by 15 minutes of specific questions
45 minute structured open forum on issues of FP7 participation.
A document will be circulated in advance of each meeting to illustrate a loose framework for discussion. The outcomes of this session will inform future FRENZ activities, and will also feed into EC discussions on the future of International Cooperation activities.
All events are open to research and administrative staff from any organisation. However, in order to ensure that participants receive the appropriate documentation, all participants are required to register their interest. This can be done by completing the form below.
