FRENZ information and training events

November 2009-December 2010

Getting to grips with FP7 can be a daunting task due to the volume of information available. In addition, the official information is often unclear as to the potential for NZ involvement in projects, or the role of NZ researchers.

Therefore, FRENZ is offering a series of information and training events to address some of the key aspects of FP7, focusing on NZ participation. In general, FRENZ events will take place on the last Thursday of the month.

Each session will target a specific audience (researcher or administrator); a specific activity (collaborative research or fellowship); or a specific call for proposals, and will provide information and advice on issues such as how to get involved; the application process; and the possibility of funding for NZ participation in FP7.

The target audience for each event has been identified, and preference will be given to individuals who meet that profile. However, subject to availability, events are open to any interested researcher. Participation is free, though due to space limitations, only registered individuals may participate.

 One day training events

Unless otherwise stated, events will take place at the FRENZ Rotorua base, at the Te Papa Tipu Innovation Park. A map is available here. Participants (max. 10) will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

Normally, sessions will run from 10am (sharp) to 4pm. Participants are encouraged to bring a paper-bag lunch to allow networking during breaks, although local facilities may also be available.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

Online registration is available here, and places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’. However, it is wise to wait for confirmation of your place before confirming any travel arrangements.
