What is FRENZ?
FRENZ (Facilitating Research co-operation between Europe and New Zealand) is a joint initiative between the New Zealand Ministry of Science and Innovation (MSI) and the European Commission (EC) to enhance the engagement of the New Zealand research, science and technology community with the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7). In short, FRENZ acts as the National Contact Point - in NZ - for all aspects of FP7 engagement; and works with local stakeholders to identify, and maximise, opportunities to strengthen Europe-NZ research relationships.
The FRENZ Mission
FRENZ seeks to facilitate the engagement of NZ research organisations and their researchers with the European Union's FP7 and other related EU opportunities. The FRENZ services seek to facilitate an increase the quality, quantity, profile and impact of NZ-EU research co-operation under FP7 through the development and execution of a suite of activities to increase the awareness of opportunities for NZ engagement and facilitate the realisation of these opportunities.
FRENZ Aim
The aim of FRENZ is to provide the necessary information, guidance and support required to promote the effective participation of the New Zealand research community FP7.
In essence, FRENZ aims to help researchers make an informed decision on how and when to engage with the Framework Programme.

The FRENZ project has received funding from the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme [FP7/2007-2013] under grant agreement n° 222665; and from the New Zealand Ministry of Research, Science and Technology.
