FRENZ has been commissioned by the European Commission and MoRST to survey New Zealand researchers concerning their experiences of engagement with Europe under FP7. The aim of the research was to analyse these experiences in order to identify any potential issues and/or common themes with regard to New Zealand-EU research collaboration. The collection of such data will, in turn, inform the type of information and services that FRENZ and MoRST provide to New Zealand researchers, concerning the goal to facilitate more effective New Zealand-EU engagement within FP7.
Participants were identified using information provided by the Commission regarding New Zealand researchers’ inclusion in FP7 projects. The relevant respondents for each successful case were subsequently contacted and asked to participate in a short interview concerning their experiences to date within the collaborative project in question.
