Sandpit 2: Novel approaches to addressing genetic and environmental factors associated with diabetes and obesity
Applying to Participate
Applications are invited from individual researchers who can contribute to the Sandpit and resulting research projects.
- Up to 16 participants will be selected to take part in the Sandpit
- Participants will be chosen to allow representation from both New Zealand and Europe
- Applications are encouraged from diverse research areas across the natural sciences, physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, social sciences, and the humanities
Applicants must complete the Expression of Interest (Application) form (maximum three sides) and provide a standard CV using the template available here.

Your responses to these questions will be used to assess your expertise in relation to the research questions and convince us that you have the right skills and attitude to participate in this Sandpit.
There are two ways to submit your application:
- Download the form, complete it offline, and upload the document using our web interface
- Download the form, complete it offline, and e-mail it to sandpits@frenz.org.nz
Applications (with standard CV) must be submitted by the deadline date: 9 May 2011 (5pm in the applicant’s country). No further documentation will be accepted. Please note that late submissions will not be considered.
Applicants will be informed of their selection for the Sandpit event by 31 May 2011.
