The European Commission launched its first calls
for proposals on 22 December 2006. In some areas, there are
multiple calls that run consecutively using the same workprogramme,
but to achieve different aims. For this reason, and to ensure
that the documents you download are the most up-to-date version,
and are all specifically relevant for a particular call, FRENZ
has provided links to the EC’s information site –
CORDIS.
The documents are:
The Call Text/Call Fiche –
outlining the deadline dates and the specific area covered.
The Workprogramme – detailing the projects
ideas that the EC wants to see developed within that particular
year/call. The Workprogramme should be downloaded and read first
to determine which sort of project the EC expects for each topic.
The Workprogrammes can be downloaded here.
The Workprogramme general introduction
and annexes – these documents are common across
all themes in any Specific Programme, i.e. all Co-operation activities,
or all Capacities activities, and augment the information provided
in the thematic workprogrammes. This means that if your research
field covers two themes (e.g., nutrition may be in Health or Food),
the Introduction and Annexes need only be downloaded once.
The Guide for Applicants –
this document describes the proposal making process and provides
templates for the information requested. In some areas, there
are different Guides for Applicants for different project types,
and it is critical that potential applicants respond to the correct
document. The Workprogramme will provide the information on which
project type is requested for each topic.
Additional documents –
these are the official basis for the Framework Programme and its
operation. These documents can be useful when preparing a proposal
as they can provide a broader understanding of the aims of the
Framework Programme. However, before taking the time to download
and read these lengthy documents, it might be useful to discuss
with FRENZ which parts of these documents would be most relevant
for your situation.
