There are several workprogrammes relating to the operation of Framework Programme 7. Each workprogramme is based on the information detailed in the legally based Specific Programme, but is developed by the European Commission in consultation with various advisory bodies, and agreed by the Member and Associated States nationally appointed representatives, the Programme Management Committee.

 

Each workprogramme will be associated with a call for proposals, and it is crucial that the correct workprogramme be consulted in the preparation of any proposal/application.

 

The workprogrammes are revised on an annual basis in order that the activities to be funded in any year take account of those that have already been funded (and don’t fund the same thing twice), and are those where the research community (through the various advisory committees) has demonstrated that there is both the need and the critical mass to respond to a specific topic. These topics should relate back to the scope provided in the Specific Programme, and it is through consulting the Specific Programme that it may be possible to predict the types of projects that might be requested in future calls.
